Education + Credentialing

In Wisconsin, builders/remodelers must hold both the Dwelling Contractor and the Dwelling Contractor Qualifier credentials to pull building permits. Click on the credential below for more information on obtaining/re-instating or renewing:

Dwelling Contractor Credential (DCC)

Renews every year and is registered in your business name.
Requires a copy(ies) of proof of Financial Responsibility, as outlined by DSPS.

Dwelling Contractor Qualifier Credential (DCQC)

Renews every two years and is registered in your name.
12 credits of continuing education are needed prior to renewal date.

New contractors must complete WI-approved Initial Training before obtaining a DCQC credential. Find a course here.
